Marathon Marina Days 6 & 7

Posted on February 10, 2019 by Joe Huber

Pretty relaxing few days for the most part. Our first day we made list of all the things that needed to be done. Fix the fuel line on the dingy-done, get water maker fixed…Not til Stuart Florida, and our 110 doesn’t work at Marathon Marina, not cool! We’ve worked around that and are hoping when we change to Marlin Bay Marina things will change. I’m sure we’ll have Burr Yacht look at that too while in Stuart. Enough on that stuff! So, Mike and Joe rented a van for a week so we can get all of our stuff done. They have gone to West Marine everyday I think since we’ve been here, Leann and I have been to Publix twice. I’m still not use to the boating lifestyle. Call me a spoiled American, I still love the conveniences of home! Friday around 4:30 we went to a docktails at LazyDays and met loopers, Doug and Rhonda from Kentucky. Small world!

On Saturday we went to a very large docktails at Fara Blanco which Mel and Ann from Morning Star put together. Right during the U of L basketball game. Anyway, we met new people there too, many have completed the loop and some are doing it again. I made a veggie pasta with a peanut sauce, broccoli, carrots, snow peas and red/orange peppers. Seems to be lots of eating and drinking. Joe and I have decided 2 meals a day are enough on this trip. Several nights we have skipped dinner. Hoping I can take off some of this weight I gained this past year! A couple of boats down from ours is a family with a Wheaton Terrier. He was on the bow of their boat. A little scratch on the ear and he was whimpering. Made me miss Charlie and Watson even more, our sons two Wheatons.

I didn’t get the king sized bed, that is rough for me! And no tempurpedic…I miss our tempurpedic! I called them and they do not make a marine mattress. I would buy one in a heartbeat if they did! The little things in life!
